The Dare (Briar U #4) by Elle Kennedy Cover Reveal!!

If you are a fan of Elle Kennedy's Briar U Series, then like me, you must have been on pins and needles waiting for any info on the fourth book in the series, The Dare. Well today is our lucky day, because she has kindly released the gorgeous cover on her upcoming book and well as a synopsis. Read below for more info and keep scrolling to see that awesome cover!!

THE DARE

Get ready for another binge-worthy romance from New York Times bestselling author Elle Kennedy!

College was supposed to be my chance to get over my ugly-duckling complex and spread my wings. Instead, I wound up in a sorority full of mean girls. I already have a hard time fitting in, so when my Kappa Chi sisters issue the challenge, I can’t say no.

The dare: seduce the hottest new hockey player in the junior class.

Conor Edwards is a regular at Greek Row parties…and in Greek Row sorority beds. He’s the one you fall for before you learn that guys like him don’t give girls like me a second glance. Except Mr. Popular throws me for a loop—rather than laughing in my face, he does me a solid by letting me take him upstairs to pretend we’re getting busy.

Even crazier, now he wants to keep pretending. Turns out Conor loves games, and he thinks it’s fun to pull the wool over my frenemies’ eyes.

But resisting his easy charm and surfer-boy hotness is darn near impossible. Though I’m realizing there’s much more to Conor’s story than his fan club can see.

And the longer this silly ruse goes on, the greater the danger of it all blowing up in my face.

The Risk (Briar U #2) by Elle Kennedy

Publication: February 18, 2019
Publisher: Elle Kennedy Inc.
Source: Author/Publisher

Synopsis:
A sexy standalone novel from New York Times and international bestselling author Elle Kennedy. THE RISK takes you back to the world of hot hockey players, feisty heroines, bro banter, and steamy scenes...

Everyone says I’m a bad girl. They’re only partly right—I don’t let fear rule me, and I certainly don’t care what people think. But I draw the line at sleeping with the enemy. As the daughter of Briar’s head hockey coach, I’d be vilified if I hooked up with a player from a rival team.

And that’s who Jake Connelly is. Harvard’s star forward is arrogant, annoying, and too attractive for his own good. But fate is cruel—I require his help to secure a much-coveted internship, and the sexy jerk isn’t making it easy for me.

I need Connelly to be my fake boyfriend.

For every fake date…he wants a real one.

Which means this bad girl is in big trouble. Nothing good can come from sneaking around with Jake Connelly. My father would kill me, my friends will revolt, and my post-college career is on the line. But while it’s getting harder and harder to resist Jake’s oozing sex appeal and cocky grin, I refuse to fall for him.

That’s the one risk I’m not willing to take.

******

I fell in love with Brenna. Beyond her gorgeous looks, she is smart, sarcastic, independent, and very sure of herself. When she wants something she isn’t afraid to go after it.  Even though things in her life hadn’t always gone to plan, she’s determined to turn things around. She’s not afraid to enter into a profession that is mostly dominated by men. I loved her fearlessness and determination.

Jake is smart, witty, and on track to play with a professional hockey team once he’s finished college. He is the top college hockey player at the moment. He lives and breathes hockey. Not only is he really good at hockey, he is equally good looking. And he knows it too. He’s never had to work hard to get a woman’s attention. Until now. Jake’s trying to maintain his good grades at college and still excel in hockey. Brenna comes into his world and shakes things up a bit. He wasn’t expecting that. Well, neither one of them was expecting it.

I loved their back and forth banter. There wasn’t a chapter that I wasn’t smiling or laughing at or with these two. They’re attracted to each other from the beginning, but there was a gradual buildup to their relationship. It wasn’t instant. Despite the fact that Brenna is against having something real with Jake, their chemistry was off the charts.  There was no way that I could do anything but root for these two to get their HEA. The Risk is the second book in the Briar U series, but it was the first book I read by Elle Kennedy. I will definitely be checking out her previous books.

Beautiful Oblivion by Jamie McGuire Blog Tour & Giveaway!

Thanks so much for checking out my stop on the Beautiful Oblivion Blog Tour!

Publication: July 1, 2014
Publisher: Atria Books

The Beautiful Disaster and Walking Disaster phenomenon continues in the first heart-pounding new adult romance in The Maddox Brothers series.

Fiercely independent Camille "Cami" Camlin gladly moved on from her childhood before it was over. She has held down a job since before she could drive, and moved into her own apartment after her freshman year of college. Now tending bar at The Red Door, Cami doesn’t have time for much else besides work and classes, until a trip to see her boyfriend is cancelled, leaving her with a first weekend off in almost a year.

Trenton Maddox was the king of Eastern State University, dating co-eds before he even graduated high school. His friends wanted to be him, and women wanted to tame him, but after a tragic accident turned his world upside down, Trenton leaves campus to come to grips with the crushing guilt.

Eighteen months later, Trenton is living at home with his widower father, and works full-time at a local tattoo parlor to help with the bills. Just when he thinks his life is returning to normal, he notices Cami sitting alone at a table at The Red.

As the baby sister of four rowdy brothers, Cami believes she’ll have no problem keeping her new friendship with Trenton Maddox strictly platonic. But when a Maddox boy falls in love, he loves forever—even if she is the only reason their already broken family could fall apart.

In the first installment of the Maddox Brothers books, readers can experience the rush of reading Beautiful Disaster for the first time, all over again.

Camille has always known that the Maddox boys were trouble. And when Trenton Maddox walks up to her table at Red, the bar she works at, she knows she would do well to stay away. Especially since she has a boyfriend. Even though he does live out of state.  But it doesn’t take much for them to connect and to begin hanging out.

Trenton is confident, has a big heart, and a bit of a temper. Even though he has a temper, I felt like he was less volatile and more mature and controlled than Travis was.
Cami is no a wallflower. She gives as good as she gets. She is caring, smart, sassy, and has a love/hate relationship with her brothers.

I loved Trent and Cami They were such a cute couple. They have their own set of drama and baggage, but together they had each other’s backs.  They were such a cute couple.

This is one of those books that practically kept a smile on my face the entire time I was reading. That ending??? I don’t even know what to say except…Well you got me Jamie McGuire. You got me really good because I did not see that coming from even a mile away. Well done.

Abby and Travis will always hold a special place in my heart, but Trenton and Camille are right next to them. I found it hard to stop reading. I would pick it up on my lunch and then break, it was hard to leave those two alone for very long.

Beautiful Oblivion was a very enjoyable story to dive into. It isn't filled with as much angst and emotional feels like Beautiful Disaster was, but there was still plenty going on. And I loved every drama filled minute of it.

RATING: 4½ out of 5.

True by Erin McCarthy

When Rory Macintosh’s roommates find out that their studious and shy friend has never been with a guy, they decide that, as an act of kindness they’ll help her lose her virginity by hiring confident, tattooed bad boy Tyler Mann to do the job…unbeknownst to Rory.

Tyler knows he’s not good enough for Rory. She’s smart, doctor smart, while he’s barely scraping by at his EMT program, hoping to pull his younger brothers out of the hell their druggy mother has left them in. But he can’t resist taking up her roommates on an opportunity to get to know her better. There’s something about her honesty that keeps him coming back when he knows he shouldn’t…

Torn between common sense and desire, the two find themselves caught up in a passionate relationship. But when Tyler’s broken family threatens to destroy his future, and hers, Rory will need to decide whether to cut her ties to his risky world or follow her heart, no matter what the cost…

*******************************************************************

My initial reaction from this book was that I liked it. In some ways it is your average nerdy, awkward, and shy virgin girl who falls for the tattooed and pierced bad boy. Who is actually not that much of a bad boy after all.
But to me this story offered a little more to it, which made it stand apart from others. The story focuses on Rory and Tyler.  Shortly after Rory’s roommates decide to take matters into their own hands by paying Tyler to help her loose her virginity to him, Tyler and Rory begin to develop feelings for each other. But Tyler believes that Rory is too good, and he does not deserve someone like her.
It turns out that his mom is a drug addict and he takes care of her. He helps to take care and protect his younger brothers from their mom. Even though he has a ladies man/bad boy reputation, he is mature and responsible for his age.
It was easy to see why these two fell for each other.  Rory is smart, nerdy, shy, and honest. Tyler He is sexy, smart, and totally swoon-worthy. They each see the real person inside.
There is some drama, angst, and mature scenes in this book. So I would not call it a super light read. If you are a fan of Beautiful Disaster, Slammed, or Easy, then this book is right up your alley.

Rating: 3 ½ out of 5.
