The eleventh novel in the New York Times bestselling paranormal romance series, Shifters Unbound.
Angus Murray, bouncer for a New Orleans Shifter bar, is sent to round up an elusive, Collar-less Shifter woman, Tamsin Calloway, who is causing trouble for Shifter Bureau, and possesses information they want. If Angus refuses, he risks losing his cub. He finds Tamsin but she's slippery and not about to be rounded up quietly. In fact, quiet is nothing Tamsin will ever be. She leads Angus on a wild chase, but he's determined to bring her in to save his son. Can Tamsin convince Angus she's worth helping before she's locked away by Shifter Bureau, Collared, or perhaps killed? |
Having
been ordered to track her, Angus
knows there is something different about Tamsin the moment he spots
her
across the room playing poker. Tamsin
recognizes Angus
is someone sent to capture her, but she
is not one to just go quietly. She leads him on a chase that just may
end up altering their lives.
Tamsin,
a rare fox shifter, is a force to be reckoned with. She can be a
little annoying at times, but her intentions are good and she has a
good heart, and common sense.
Angus,
a wolf shifter is a top tracker. He is very good at what he does
which is partly why he was recruited to hunt Tamsin. He is big,
strong, and a loving father to his cub. He is also a man of few
words, but when he says them you know he means them.
Angus
and Tamsin each
have things in
their past that have changed the way they look and approach life now,
but it doesn’t completely hold them back. Separately these two
characters
are strong and capable, but together they make
an even
better team. They
have great chemistry and I really enjoyed their banter.
“As
he debated with himself, Tamsin leaned forward and brushed his lips
with hers. Something electric flashed through Angus’s body, and for
a second, he thought she’d tased him. But her hands were empty, her
eyes closed, and only her mouth touched his. Her lips were smooth,
soft, perfect. The half kiss broke open something inside him, and
heat came flooding out. Angus attempted to pull back, but the ache
that would have caused wouldn’t let him.”
I
have to admit that I started backwards with this series since this is
the 11th
book in the Shifters Unbound series, but the first book I have read
in said
series. I was
intrigued by the premise and wanted to give it a try. Even though it
was book eleven, I
did not feel confused by any of the characters or situations that
occurred in this story. In fact I liked it so much that I ended up
buying the book and plan to start the series from the beginning. I
thoroughly enjoyed reading
Midnight Wolf.
It was very easy
to get into and the characters were interesting and
engaging as well. The
plot moved at a
good steady pace
and I never once felt bored. And
there was even some humored
peppered throughout the
story. I’d
recommend Midnight
Wolf to
anyone who enjoys a good Paranormal read with solid writing and
characters.
