The Dare (Briar U #4) by Elle Kennedy Cover Reveal!!

If you are a fan of Elle Kennedy's Briar U Series, then like me, you must have been on pins and needles waiting for any info on the fourth book in the series, The Dare. Well today is our lucky day, because she has kindly released the gorgeous cover on her upcoming book and well as a synopsis. Read below for more info and keep scrolling to see that awesome cover!!

THE DARE

Get ready for another binge-worthy romance from New York Times bestselling author Elle Kennedy!

College was supposed to be my chance to get over my ugly-duckling complex and spread my wings. Instead, I wound up in a sorority full of mean girls. I already have a hard time fitting in, so when my Kappa Chi sisters issue the challenge, I can’t say no.

The dare: seduce the hottest new hockey player in the junior class.

Conor Edwards is a regular at Greek Row parties…and in Greek Row sorority beds. He’s the one you fall for before you learn that guys like him don’t give girls like me a second glance. Except Mr. Popular throws me for a loop—rather than laughing in my face, he does me a solid by letting me take him upstairs to pretend we’re getting busy.

Even crazier, now he wants to keep pretending. Turns out Conor loves games, and he thinks it’s fun to pull the wool over my frenemies’ eyes.

But resisting his easy charm and surfer-boy hotness is darn near impossible. Though I’m realizing there’s much more to Conor’s story than his fan club can see.

And the longer this silly ruse goes on, the greater the danger of it all blowing up in my face.

The Risk (Briar U #2) by Elle Kennedy

Publication: February 18, 2019
Publisher: Elle Kennedy Inc.
Source: Author/Publisher

Synopsis:
A sexy standalone novel from New York Times and international bestselling author Elle Kennedy. THE RISK takes you back to the world of hot hockey players, feisty heroines, bro banter, and steamy scenes...

Everyone says I’m a bad girl. They’re only partly right—I don’t let fear rule me, and I certainly don’t care what people think. But I draw the line at sleeping with the enemy. As the daughter of Briar’s head hockey coach, I’d be vilified if I hooked up with a player from a rival team.

And that’s who Jake Connelly is. Harvard’s star forward is arrogant, annoying, and too attractive for his own good. But fate is cruel—I require his help to secure a much-coveted internship, and the sexy jerk isn’t making it easy for me.

I need Connelly to be my fake boyfriend.

For every fake date…he wants a real one.

Which means this bad girl is in big trouble. Nothing good can come from sneaking around with Jake Connelly. My father would kill me, my friends will revolt, and my post-college career is on the line. But while it’s getting harder and harder to resist Jake’s oozing sex appeal and cocky grin, I refuse to fall for him.

That’s the one risk I’m not willing to take.

******

I fell in love with Brenna. Beyond her gorgeous looks, she is smart, sarcastic, independent, and very sure of herself. When she wants something she isn’t afraid to go after it.  Even though things in her life hadn’t always gone to plan, she’s determined to turn things around. She’s not afraid to enter into a profession that is mostly dominated by men. I loved her fearlessness and determination.

Jake is smart, witty, and on track to play with a professional hockey team once he’s finished college. He is the top college hockey player at the moment. He lives and breathes hockey. Not only is he really good at hockey, he is equally good looking. And he knows it too. He’s never had to work hard to get a woman’s attention. Until now. Jake’s trying to maintain his good grades at college and still excel in hockey. Brenna comes into his world and shakes things up a bit. He wasn’t expecting that. Well, neither one of them was expecting it.

I loved their back and forth banter. There wasn’t a chapter that I wasn’t smiling or laughing at or with these two. They’re attracted to each other from the beginning, but there was a gradual buildup to their relationship. It wasn’t instant. Despite the fact that Brenna is against having something real with Jake, their chemistry was off the charts.  There was no way that I could do anything but root for these two to get their HEA. The Risk is the second book in the Briar U series, but it was the first book I read by Elle Kennedy. I will definitely be checking out her previous books.

RATING: 4½ out of 5.

The Good Luck Charm by Helena Hunting

Publication: August 7, 2018
Publisher: Forever
Source: Publisher

Synopsis:

Is it love, or is she just his good luck charm?

New York Times and USA Today bestselling author Helena Hunting absolutely delights with this witty and fun standalone contemporary romance.

Lilah isn't sure what hurt worse: the day Ethan left her to focus on his hockey career, or the day he came back eight years later. He might think they can pick up just where they left off, but she's no longer that same girl and never wants to be again.

Ethan Kane wants his glory days back. And that includes having Lilah by his side. With her, he was magic. They were magic. All he has to do is make her see that.

Just when Lilah might finally be ready to let him in, though, she finds out their reunion has nothing to do with her and everything to do with his game. But Ethan's already lost her once, and even if it costs him his career, he'll do anything to keep from losing her again.

******

Who doesn’t love a good second chance romance? Lilah and Ethan seemed like they were meant for each other from the very beginning. They grew up together and Lilah always spent time at Ethan’s home. His parents were like her parents. Everything changes though when Ethan gets drafted into the NHL and he decides to break up with her. Lilah, naturally is heartbroken. She’s young, but Ethan was her whole world. They were each other’s first loves. How do you move on from that?

Fast-forward to 8 years later and things have definitely changed. Lilah is loving her job as a Nurse and planning to get her Master’s. Unfortunately, she’s also in the process of getting a divorce. She’s in an emotional place right now. Especially when Ethan comes back into town. It’s obvious that they still have feelings for each other. Ethan wants to apologize and set the record straight, but despite their ever-present connection, Lilah isn’t too sure she is ready to hear anything he has to say. She was hurt deeply when he left. I don’t think she ever fully got over that. However, circumstances and a well meaning, but semi-pushy sister keep bringing these two together until they are able to hash out the past.

Ethan is very determined to make things right. He is a big believer that things happen for a reason and he wants to show Lilah that they can be good for each other again. If she is willing to take a chance. Is she willing or able to let go of the past and embrace a new future with Ethan? Can these two finally get it right, the second time around?

The Good Luck Charm is a sweet second chance romance story that had me rooting for Lilah and Ethan straight away. There wasn’t a ton of drama (which is how I like it), but theses characters did start to annoy me with their behavior. There were times when I wanted to shake them and say “Hey, don’t screw this up.” All in all I liked the story, especially the ending. It was perfect IMO. This was the first book I had read by this author and I am excited to find other books by her. I would say this is a good summertime read, but since summer is almost ending, I’ll say if you’re looking for a good sports romance, then The Good Luck Charm is one to check out.

RATING: out of 5.
